Rochelle graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy and had the privilege of interning at the renowned Walter Reed Army Hospital during her senior year rotation. Rochelle is a certified Lymphedema Therapist, certified Ergonomic Analysist, Advanced training in Pelvic Floor Rehab, trained in Vestibular Rehab (Balance Disorders) and certified in Acupuncture, as well as in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization.
Rochelle has consistently practiced for over 32 years, and has acquired a wealth of experience in the field of Physical Therapy. Although she has worked in the acute inpatient settings, her passion is working with the outpatient population. She embraces the challenge of treating a broad spectrum of diagnoses. Rochelle’s treatment objective is to place emphasis on a thorough patient evaluation, in order to determine the functional impairments and develop a custom treatment plan.
Rochelle was employed at University Community Hospital, Tampa Florida for 20 years, and was promoted to clinical manager. During her tenure at UCH, she served on various committees to include, the Quality Assurance Committee, Ergonomic Committee, Joint Commission Preparation Committee, Rehab Documentation Committee, as well as the Professional Advisory Committee. Rochelle managed the Outpatient Department at UCH and actively worked in the following programs: general orthopedics to include occupational related injuries, treatment of injured players from the local NFL Buccaneers team, Ergonomic assessments, Back Care training, pre and post Functional Capacity Assessments, Vestibular Rehab, Pelvic Floor for males and females and Stroke Rehab. In addition, she was a clinical instructor for university students pursuing Bachelors, Masters and later Doctorate Degrees in Physical Therapy. Rochelle guested lectured at the local University of South Florida to Physical Therapy Students on Lymphedema and Pelvic Floor Rehab, and Musculoskeletal Assessments to Medical Doctors studying Occupational Medicine.
Rochelle is married with a blended family of four children and two grandchildren. She is a late blooming artist, practiced Tae Kwondo from many years and received 2nd Degree Black Belt. She enjoys running half marathons, swimming, traveling, cooking, spending time with family and attending Church.
Rochelle embraced the opportunity to work at InTouch Therapy in July 2014. She was attracted to the fact that InTouch was a unique clinic in its setting by offering a comprehensive Physical Therapy program. At InTouch the patient population and diagnoses is diverse, thus allowing a therapist to implement skills and knowledge acquired on a daily basis.
